It is not impossible to find a good nursing home, but it may be difficult. Anyone who places a loved one in a nursing home needs to visit often, stay in constant communication with the staff, check your loved ones often, including looking at their skin all over, backside especially, look at mouth, and teeth, and ask a lot of questions to be sure he or she is getting the right care. Dehydration (not getting enough liquids) and skin breakdown are common problems. We need to be very watchful to protect the ones we love!
