Yasmin Birth control drug is the latest drug to come under scrutiny. Yasmin has been associated with several serious side effects including stroke, heart attack and even death. Women a history involving cardiovascular problems should be especially careful.
Other severe side effects include:
- Severe allergic reactions including :rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing.
- Tightness in the chest swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue.
- Fainting
- Irregular heartbeat
- Symptoms of liver problems
- Unusual or severe vaginal bleeding
- Unusual tiredness or weakness
- vaginal irritation or discharge
- Vision changes (eg, sudden vision loss, double vision)

I had to stop taking Yasmin becuase of severe depression. I also had symptoms of irregular heartbeat.
I am glad I recently found out it could be Yasmin causing these problems.

I had to stop taking Yasmin due to heavy bleeding, I also had symptoms of tightness in my chest and irregular heart beat.
Once I was taken off Yasmin all the problems stoped.

Is depression an issue with Yasmin?

I currently take yasmin and I have Chest pain almost on a nightly basis as well as while working out and just sitting. I get blurry vision while working out as well. I didn’t think the vision was that serious since I don’t wear my glasses while running, but some of these side effects sound a little too close to the issues I’ve been having, I saw my gyn, and she said to go home since I only had serious bleeding during one cycle, She said because I was young it was just my hormones.

I have been on Yasmin for a few yrs. And how funny this article comes out. In the past couple yrs I have been dealing with Irregular heartbeat, fast beating…Severe dizziness, moodiness and irritability and depression also. I thought these were all seperate issues, maybe not? Pretty scary. I plan on talking to my doc very soon!

I have been on Yasmin for 4 years and have suffered severe migraines with vision loss. I never experienced migraines like this before and after reading the recent articles about yasmin now it all makes sense. I also experience blurred vision and feeling of being disoriented. It’s really strange and sometimes scary. Looks like it’s time to discontinue taking this pill. Doing more harm than good.

I’ve been takins Yasmin for about 3 months now with no issues, although I do have a friend who took Yaz and has severe depression from it. I think its like any other birthcontrol, they can all cause depression, heart attack, stroke and all the other side effects.

am i abnormal? I am on this pill fast the past three years and has no side effects.
